Bra Measurement

It is important to note that different bra styles and fabrics contribute to size differences. If you are confident that you are wearing the correct size then we recommend that you purchase the size you are happy with. Follow the simple steps below to determine your correct size. Remove clothing before taking measurements but always keep a bra on whilst measuring. A non-padded bra gives a more accurate measurement.

Follow the simple steps below to measure yourself:

Under Bust: Place the tape round the body, directly under the bust, ensuring that the tape is level at the back and pulled firmly. Record measurement in inches. If the underbust measurement is an even number then add 4 inches, if the underbust measurement is an odd number, then add 5 inches.

Top Bust: Place the tape around the fullest part of the bust, ensuring that the tape is level around the back. Record measurement in inches. The difference between the final underbust measurement and the top bust measurement gives an indication of your cup size.

  • 1" difference is an A cup
  • 2" difference is a B cup
  • 3" difference is a C cup
  • 4" difference is a D cup
  • 5" difference is a DD cup
  • 6" difference is an E cup

Fitting Advice

-The wire in your bra is digging in or poking you.

If you are being poked by the underwire, then your cup size may be too small and you will need a larger size.

- The straps are digging into your shoulders. You may need to loosen the straps. Or, your cups may be too small, pulling the bra downward and creating tension in the straps, you may need a larger cup size.

- The band is riding up your back. Your cups are too small, and you will need a larger cup size.

- There is a gap between the cups in your bra and your bust. If you are not properly filling out the cup, then your band and or cup size is too large and you will need a smaller size.

- The straps are falling off your shoulders. Most likely, your band size is too large and you will need a smaller band. If you are not properly filling out the cup, then your band and or cup size is too large and you will need a smaller size. It is also possible that your bra has lost its elasticity.

- Caring for your bras.A bra should be hand washed or if you wash your bras in the washing machine, put them in a mesh bag to protect them from other clothing. Always use the delicate cycle in warm or cool water, and use a delicate detergent without bleach. Never use a dryer; hang your bras up to dry instead.

- The cup size of a 10DD bra is the same size cup as a 16B. Here is how it works: 10DD = 12D = 14C = 16B. With this knowledge, changing your bra size is much easier. If you require a larger or smaller band, make sure you change your cup size accordingly.

How to put a bra on correctly:

  • Place your arms through the bra straps and lean forward, allowing the bust to fall into the cups
  • Fasten the back clip at the centre hook position
  • Stand up straight, place hands inside the bra cups and adjust bust as necessary until comfortable
  • Adjust the back back clip, tighter or looser as required
  • Adjust the straps so that they feel comfortable but firm. If the straps drag the bra cups up and distort the shape of the bra, then they are too tight
